Instructions
This math placement test is designed to access your readiness for college level Mathematics or Statistics class required for your major. If your major is in the Arts, Business, Communications, Diplomacy, Education, Humanities, and Social Sciences, then you would take this test.
(If your major is in Mathematics, Computer Science, Natural Sciences, or Physical Sciences, please take the Math Placement Test for STEM.)
The following test includes concepts covered in Algebra 1 and 2.
You will be placed into one of the following classes:
- Math 0012 Developmental Math II
- Math 1102 Mathematical Perspectives
- Math 1151 or 1161 Mathematics for Educators
- Math 1203 Statistical Models for Social Science
- Math 1205 Finite Math and Applied Calculus for Business
You will have 60 minutes to answer the questions based on your mathematical knowledge and no other resources beyond a scientific calculator. Failure to do so may result in your placement into a class that you are not prepared to succeed.
