Instructions
This math placement test is designed to access your readiness for Precalculus or Calculus which is required for your science classes. Majors requiring this level of math include: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science majors as well as BS in Psychology.
(If you are not a STEM major, please complete the non-STEM Math Placement Test instead.)
The following test includes concepts covered in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Precalculus and Trigonometry.
You will be placed into three possible classes as a result of this test:
- Math 1014 College Algebra
- Math 1015 Precalculus Math and Trigonometry
- Math 1401 Calculus 1 or Math 1501 Calculus 1 for Math and Physical Sciences
You will have 60 minutes to answer questions based on your mathematical knowledge and no other resources beyond a scientific calculator. Failure to do so may result in your placement into a class that you are not prepared to succeed.
