Welcome to Seton Hall University!
Congratulations on your recent acceptance to Seton Hall University! We are excited to be a support to you as you take your first steps as a Pirate.
Once you have deposited and confirmed your intent to attend the University you have a couple of important steps:
1) Attend a Transfer Student Informational meeting with advisors from the Center for Academic Success. These meetings are generally held on Tuesdays virtually. If you have not received information regarding this meeting, reach out to the Director of our Transfer Student Center, Lisa Hawryluk (lisa.hawryluk@shu.edu).
2) Meet with an Advisor for Registration. If you are below 30 credits, you will meet with an advisor in the Center for Academic Success. If you are transferring in more than 30 credits, we will link you with a faculty advisor in your department. In either case, we will help you schedule an appt when you attend the informational meeting. You can use the link here to request an initial appt: https://www.shu.edu/transfer-student-center/request-an-appointment.html Links to an external site.
3) Sign up for a date to attend Transfer Orientation. You should have received an email allowing you to select a date in August. Orientation will be very important in helping to get you started at the University. https://www.shu.edu/undergraduate-admissions/transfer-orientation.html Links to an external site.
4) Take your placement tests as needed. Depending on the credit you are transferring in, you may need to take placement tests in Math, English and Language. The placement test instructions can be found under "Modules" on the left hand menu. These tests are important because they will determine what classes you begin in your first semester. Talk with an advisor before you take placement tests to confirm whether you need to.
If you need anything, don't hesitate to contact us at transfercenter@shu.edu.
Go Pirates!
